Pastries, hm? I have to say that is good to know. The candy as well...though, I hadn't partaken in that myself.
[ He appears pleased with himself for asking about such a clarification regardless. Learning more about what people might like is perhaps a good thing...for maybe obvious reasons, hah. ]
[ He's had desserts and such, but candy? Well, Edward does not know the joys of modern candy at all in the slightest. There are limitations in a medieval world, after all.
It does not quite help he isn't exactly the type to snack on it...though all the same it does not mean he dislikes such things. Just a missed opportunity. Until now, that is. ]
[ Thankfully, Fai hasn't finished all of his yet, so he gets up to root around in his bucker for some skittles. It's a small bag, so he just tosses it at Edward. ]
Here. Just try one, though. Since it's your first time, it might be a bit much.
[ Edward catches a hold of the small bag, blinking as he does so, but then he next opens it, and then pops at least three into his mouth like a couple of grapes!
...
..
His eyes widen after he chews and swallows, because that is an explosion of flavor to him. ]
My! The flavors...they're exquisite! Earth could benefit from having such confectioneries!
[ He pauses, looking sheepish, remembering belatedly Fai had said to sample just the one. ]
You were right in that it was quite much, though as embarrassing as it is, I couldn't help myself. I am not normally the kind of person who would act so overexcited about such a thing, I assure you.
[ Almost immediately, Edward brightens up like a lamp. ]
Is that so? Mm, perhaps this would be too much to consume by my lonesome, so mayhaps it would be possible if we both shared the entire bag, with me handing you some one-by-one, saying, 'Here you go'...or I suppose I would if it were not so late. Surely that would keep the both of us up far too late...
[ His heart skips a beat, but excitedly. His lips shift into a little smile even if a blush lightly adorns his cheeks. ]
Very well, I find that I cannot help but oblige such a request. Just wait right there and I will come to you.
[ ...he's internally dying a bit from saying that, but true to form, Edward plucks a skittle delicately from the bag, standing up from his chair and moving so he's closer to Fai, then holding it closer to the other's face. ]
[ Fai leans forward eagerly so he can take the piece of candy from Edward's fingers. And if his lips happen to make contact with his fingers? Well, he doesn't think either of them mind all that much.
He sits back, chewing and swallowing before he grins at Edward. ]
[ ...Oh, Fai is certainly right about that; he doesn't mind at all. The gentle sensation of those fingers touching against those lips as he passes the candy on is nice. ]
...I suppose it is a bit too late to say 'enjoy your meal'.
Though, if you would prefer to have another [ And then a thought: ] or perhaps a filling meal at some point, I would not mind preparing you something.
[ He's curious about the sorts of things Edward would have to eat back in his own world. It's always interesting to see those differences whenever he travels. ]
I'm happy to hear that. It'll be nice to be able to cook something on my own once again...as you might imagine it causes a bit of an uproar were I to try to do so at the castle.
[ ...he still has gone and done it at least a couple of times, probably. Cooking is an important skill, but either way he'd be happy to show some things that he is capable of preparing from his world.
Not that it's much overlap if he thinks of coming by and doing so by breakfast, but he's still considering the 'when' portion of things... ]
Yes, and pleading for me to not do such things on my own...though, hearing that you would not make such a commotion, and simply grace me with your gratitude makes me glad.
[ There is a smidgen of a lighter tone coming along here; closer to perhaps jocular. ]
I may decide to come back and simply make you breakfast tomorrow, then. If you have no objections, that is.
[ He even has half the mind to tell Edward he can stay the night and make breakfast then, but he knows that might be much too forward for a man like him. ]
It's a promise, then. Please, do look forward to it.
[ Edward seems to be considering something, but as he has run out of things to say, he decides that it isn't so bad to end things here. Though he tries his best, he is not exactly the best conversationalist...the pains of being an introvert, perhaps. Still, he gathers up his courage, and he will lean forward to see if he might be able to plant a gentle kiss against Fai's cheek. ]
...In the meanwhile, do have yourself a good night. I shall see to you in the morrow.
[ Regardless of the result, Edward will likely leave (unless Fai has something he will request of him.) But, Fai will definitely see him in the morning with food. Absolutely not necessary to thread out, but for a reference it will definitely be a small assortment of food fit for two. Plus, perhaps something sweet to go alongside it. ]
[ The assortment that Edward shows up with is something that absolutely delights Fai, and he's in a good mood for the rest of the morning. Good job, Edward!
And for his troubles, he'll get a kiss on the cheek in return. Hopefully that's a suitable reward for him. ]

I do like sweets! My favorites are pastries, but I like the candy we've been given here as well.

Even so, it's cute to see you so excited over it. I could watch you eat it all day.

Why don't you feed me one?

I can assure you the only commotion you'd see from me is my thankfulness.
